Best Ice Cream in Copenhagen
Copenhagen is a city that loves ice cream. You genuinely can’t go far on a summer day here and not come across people enjoying ice cream in some form or fashion. Danes are famously obsessed with ice cream, so if you share this passion (and who doesn’t?), you’ve come to the right place.

Today I’m sharing our five favorite ice cream in the Copenhagen metro area. It’s a good list, guys.
1. Ismageriet
It’s our absolute favorite, so it had to top the list. Even in the winter, you’re likely to see a line of people waiting to get their hands on the perfectly executed flavors that are served up at Ismageriet. It’s so good. There are a few locations in the city, but we frequent the Søborg location – if you don’t want to wait, make sure you pop in before the after-dinner rush. Or stop by in the morning (they open at 10 a.m.) and grab a to-go box. Your people will love you.
Recommendations: Mint chocolate chip (mynte chokolade), blood orange (blodappelsin) sorbet and koldskål (a classic Danish summer dessert) are personal favorites.

2. Isoteket
The flavor combinations are so original and fresh, it’s definitely worth a stop. There are five locations around the city, but we’re partial to the Nordhavn location, which offers up ice cream as a post-harbor-swimming treat, or simply a spot with a nice view.
Recommendations: The lemon poppyseed (citron tebirke) is out of this world!

3. Peter Beier Chokolade
Peter Beier Chokolade specializes in chocolate, so if you’re going for ice cream, you’ve got to try one of their many levels of chocolate ice cream. The dark chocolate (mørk chokolade) 70% is our favorite, but you can go up to 90% if you’re hardcore.

Recommendations: If you happen to be around on a Wednesday, stop in for the raspberry/vanilla swirl soft serve – it’s always on special for 25 dkk, a steal for CPH.
4. Social Foodies
There are a couple of locations in the city, but if you’ve got access to a car, stopping by the Vedbæk location of Social Foodies is a great way to spend a sunny afternoon. Grab a cone, then stroll across the street to the beach or walk the harbor. It’s lovely.

Recommendations: The blackcurrant chocolate (solbær choco) is my favorite.
5. Siciliansk Is
If you’re into the slightly different take of gelato, then Siciliansk Is is for you. With two convenient locations in the city, it’s easy to stop in for a cup if you’re out touring the city. The Vesterbro location is right next door to one of our favorite city parks (Skydebanehaven), so it’s the perfect combination.
Recommendations: Try the zuppa inglese or the cannolo for a unique flavor.
Here’s hoping your trip to Copenhagen includes one or more of these delightful ice cream stops. Enjoy!
