Hi! We’re Caroline and Chelsea - best friends whose shared love of travel was born in a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a set of printed MapQuest directions in hand and a Rand McNally road atlas open on the dashboard.  

College roommates (Go Heels!), we embarked on our first self-guided road trip up the east coast of the United States with little clue what we were doing, but a whole lot of excitement and Mountain Dew fueling our journey.  

Twenty years later, we’re still best friends and have added two husbands and 7 children to the back seat of the Jeep. Maybe a little less clueless, perhaps with a bit less energy (what energy we do have is now thanks to coffee), but still trying to roll up whatever coastline is in front of us.  

We’re passionate about passing on a love of exploring and connection with nature, countries and cultures all around us to the entire family. Chasing Coastlines is a place for us to share our favorite spots, tips & tricks we’ve learned along the way, and some of our favorite photos that we hope will inspire and encourage you as you plan your own trips to explore this beautiful world with your people. Caroline currently resides in Hillsborough, NC and is mom to four children.

Chelsea currently resides in Copenhagen, Denmark and is mom to three children.
